Leadville Hot Chocolate

I invented this drink while working as a bartender at the Delaware Hotel, in Leadville, Colorado, 1971. Had no money but lots of friends. Great people to hang with at the bar, on the job and off work, too. That was amazing times up there in the late sixties and early seventies. I believe that it was the happiest time of my life. I have alot more money now - cant say Im any happier. We were a bunch of redneck hippies running around the mountains.

Leadville Hot Chocolate

1 oz. vodka
1 oz. irish cream
1 oz kahlua
2 oz brown creme de cacao

fill to the top with hot half and half. serve in a hot chocolate mug - ok coffee mug. or for a real touch of class make regular hot chocolate using half and half and slowly stir in high quality coca dry mix to taste with sugar to taste. Takes time. This is only for cold, snowy days.

fill a shot glass with abstinence. hold the tongs of a fork over the shot glass and rest a sugar cube on the tongs. Light the shot on fire until the sugar begins to melt and drip into the shot. Allow for a few drops then blow out the fire. drop the sugar cube in and take the shot. Be careful not to choke on the sugar cube. a hint would be to bar your teeth to stop the cube from fully entering your mouth.
