Great drink. will screw you up. the only thing is the everclear needs to be a fifth rather than a quart. the two gallons will screw up atleast 5 to 6 people.

There are many versions of this drink. I agree with usign a fifth of everclear rather than a qrt. And you don't have to use apple cider, you can use just 2gal of apple juice. This drink is great warmed or cool, and can be best stored at room temperature in mason jars.

It is also good if you add a handful of red hots

A recipe I have also tried is to add a pt of Wild Turkey to the apple pie drink, pour mixture into a pint or qt mason jar and add 1 cinnamon stick.

I also add 1 tsp. of vanilla extract for additional flavor.

Question , is it better to store in refrigerator or can I let sit out in my basement.

I make batches of this every year around the holidays. Best chilled but needs to be shaken before you serve bc the sugar and other ingredients settle. I use brown sugar, vanilla extract, a little ginger and nutmeg

Drink isn't that sting even with 1/5 if everclear, it will freeze

When I make this, it is awesome for about 2-3 days, then it gets this bitter taste and I can't hardly choke it down. I also use vanilla extract and a clove for flavor. Any ideas, thoughts about why it tastes bitter after a couple days in the fridge?
